Seaweed

Happy Friday everyone! Okay, I told you I was going to do a mani with just Finger Paints Tough Art To Follow. I absolutely love this green! The formula is a bit thin and one coat is very sheer. I used 3 coats and no top coat. Okay I'm off to see if I can find a good inexpensive camera! Whoop Whoop! I'll be my own camera fairy! LOL Have a great weekend :D

Simply Green

Hey everybody, I'm feeling better than I was yesterday :D This mani is just a nice and simple mani I used two greens. The tip is a dark green. This green is from Finger Paints and is a beauty alone. It's a deep deep dark green (like seaweed green) I'll do that tomorrow, so y'all can see the beauty. I recently purchased Beauty Secrets Fast Dry, it's not a top coat. I used it instead of a top coat just to smooth everything. And, it really didn't quicken the dry time. I think it actually took longer :/ Ok, I must apologize for the not so great pic, I've yet to get a camera. I wish the camera fairy would pay me a visit. LOL Hey she leaves money for lost teeth, why not lost cameras. Hehe :D Project Runway tonight! Have a great evening!  P.S, Thank you Jesus for sending us the much needed rain!

1 coat Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats Wet n Wild fast dry Sage in the City, tipped with Finger Paints Tough Art To Follow, and Beauty Secrets Fast Dry.

Mom

Hi everyone, It's Wednesday. I hope y'alls week so far has been going great. Sorry for the late post, I've had such a busy day. This pink didn't photo so great. The pink looks like cotton candy, I promise! I wanted something pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness coming up next month. Today's mani is dedicated to my mom. I wrote this as my Facebook status awhile back, but it's as true today as it was then:

Mom,
You've been here for me without fail, whenever things weren't going quite right. You've always told me I could do and be anything I wanted in this life. You made sure I became a secure, loving, independent, and confident woman. Never to settle for anything less than I deserve. You taught me to live, not merely exist. There are not enough words in all the books on this planet that can express how much I love you. Mom, I love you and will honor you all the days of my life!

1 coat of Seche Ultra V Top Coat, 1 coat Sinful Colors Thimbleberry, taped my fingers, added Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and because the white was too loud I added 1 coat of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter and 1 coat of Seche Ultra V Top Coat.

My Autumn II

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a fabulous day! Yesterday I said I was going to do a tape mani with the colors I used in My Autum mani. Well, here it is. I changed the yellow I used because I wanted a fast dry polish (Wet n Wild fast dry). I used only one coat of yellow. I didn't want to have a disaster like I had with my "ARRGGHH" mani. I was taking no chances! I do like the colors together, reminds me of the German flag. I must say I'm quite pleased. I just may make this a plaid mani IDK, that's a lot of prep and I like fast. As always have a great day until tomorrow :D

My Autumn

Hi everyone, I Hope everyone is having a great start to the week! If not, just remember this: Crows can't hang with Eagles! I finally got my phone camera to do exactly what I want it to do! Even though for this pic I didn't exactly want the colors to be so bright. Anyway, I love to read and I remember reading books when I was little about the different seasons and they'd show pics of all of them, I just loved the autum pics! So today I did a sponge with those colors or I tried to anyway :) I think I'm going to do a different design using the same colors, maybe another tape (I loved these colors that much) hehe :-) I hope you enjoy, I'm  off to study! ARRGGHH! I forgot to wrap my nails! LOL

I love Minnie

Hi everyone, Happy Sunday! I started my day at Lakewood Church, great message :) I made my all time fav dish my grandma used to make for me when I was little (huevos montanas) took me back to the good ole days with my grandma :) Today I dedicate my funky frenchie to Minnie Mouse. After all we do share the same name...LOL I know the polka dots should be white on red. Well, their my fingers and I decided to put them on my black tips :) No, seriously I put them on my black tips because I thought there would be too much going on. I was right, I did do a mani with white on red. No bueno :( No posting of that pic! I love Sinful Color Polishes this one is a thin formula, but not too thin I couldn't control the polish. Ok, everyone time for me to go til tomorrow. Have a great week! Remember everyday can be a Friday.
1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Sinful Colors GoGo Red, taped my fingers added Wet n Wild fast dry Ebony Loves Chris and dotted with my Instant French Manicure Pen. I don't have white so I just put a blob of this on a konad plate and dotted with my dotting tool.

Pretty In Pink

It's the weekend and I'm about to have me some fun! Ok, today I wanted something girlie and there's nothing more girlie than pink! I was going to do a funky frenchie, but I love this pink so much I decided to leave well enough alone and just add a decal to an accent finger. This pink is so so so pretty and believe me when I say the pic does not capture the beauty it! It has a yellow shimmer to it, just fabulous! The polish is a Wet n Wild and the formula has a thin consistency and somewhat sheer. I used 3 Coats. I took a gazillion pics trying to get the beauty of it, finally I just i had to choose one. Ok, now go out and have y'all some fun!
1 coat Seche Ultra V, 3 coats Wet N Wild fast dry How I Met Your Magenta, added decal to accent fingers, and 1 coat Seche Ultra V.

3CPO Gone Bad

Happy Friday everyone! Ok, today's mani did not go as as expected :/ I was going to do another sponge mani, but that didn't go to good. I was using gray, blue, and black. My base was color was an NYC and the texture was so thin it came out like water and not a good base for sponging. My sponging colors really showed up great, but not the look I was going for. I really do think it was the base color. I do like NYC and use it a lot, but this one is not a fav :( So I ended up adding a crackle and it looks like 3CPO exploded! LOL :O) I'm using my IPhone and I've never used it to post any of my bogs, I'm sorry if it's out of order. I'll just edit when I get to my laptop. Thanks everyone, have an awesome weekend :-)

Twinkle Twinkle

Hi Everyone, It's been a fabulous Thursday and I don't have class on Fridays! And, I made a 100 on my test! WHOO HOO! Yesterday, I loved sponging so much I decided to do it again today. You can do so many things with sponging, it's awesome! The pic doesn't capture the true colors. From top to bottom the colors are turquoise, blue, purple and I added stars. In this pic they all look blue :/ I so need to get a camera soon! I really loved the color combo. It reminds me of the nursery rhymes Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Cow Jumped Over The Moon. I had a receiving blanket when my son was a baby that had stars and moons on it, this mani reminded me of when I used to wrap him in it. Oh, those were the good ole days :) I hope you like it.
1 coat Seche Ultra V, 2 coats Wet n Wild fast dry Teal or No Teal, sponged with Wet n Wild fast dry Saved by the Blue and Wet n Wild fast dry Buffy the Violet Slayer, 1 thin coat of NYC Starry Silver Glitter, and one coat of Seche Ultra V to seal it.

Easy breezy

Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday! I bought some make up sponges a while back and didn't like them and they've been in my cabinet collecting dust, well I finally found a use for them. MY NAILS! This is my first time ever sponging and I have to say it's so easy! I should've added red to it too but, I never sponged before and was just excited at how easy it is and just wasn't thinking. Next time. I also forgot to wrap my tips :/ Now that I know how easy sponging is I'll be doing a lot more of it. I can't wait! I chose yellow and orange because I wanted something cheery and today that felt like yellow and orange. Ok, well I have 2 tests tomorrow so I've got to study. Bye everyone :)
1 coat of Seche Ultra V, 2 coats of Wet n Wild fast dry The Wonder Yellows as my base coat, sponged with Crayola Orange, 1 coat of Kleancolor My Rightful Throne, 1 coat Seche Ultra V.

Scared-itis

I was blog surfing and saw a design I liked and decided to try it. I kinda got scared of the tape. I was supposed to use 3 pieces of tape (I did on my thumb) for each nail but, like I said, scared-itis got the better me and I used only 2. Next time I won't be scerd! My thumb did turn out great. I can see the many imperfections and I am my worst critic. I WILL BE PERFECTING MY TECHNIQUE!!! I get an "A" for effort :) I'm kinda embarrassed to post the pic, but I will. I'm using a polish I've never used, Nina Ultra Pro and I love it! It's so thick and went on smooth like whipped cream.
1 coat of Seche Ultra V Top Coat, 2 coats of Nina Ultra Pro Love Struck, taped my nails, 1 coat of Wet & Wild fast dry Ebony Hates Chris, and 1 coat Seche Ultra V Top Coat.

Scented goodness

Hi everyone, I hope y'all's week is off to a great start! I've had a ton of homework to do and well the school's system crashed (like 4 times) Argh! I needed a little bit of color to brighten my day. So, I choose my Crayola scented nail polish for my tips (the whole set) I think it looks quite good. I absolutely love the thickness of this nail polish! My camera didn't capture the brightness of the colors. Oh well, I'll have a camera later this week.
I used 1 coat of Seche Ultra V, 2 coats of Sally Hansem Diamond Strength Diamonds. taped my nails, Crayola scented nail polish one on each finger tip grape, blueberry, bubble gum, orange, and green apple. 1 coat of Seche Ultra V

Go Jets!

Happy Sunday everyone. I just did a quick mani today, Just added China Glaze Platinum Platinum Pieces Crackle and 1 coat of Seche Ultra V to the black tips. Hehe, how easy is that :0) One of Jesse's fav blah blah (that means football) teams is the New York Jets. I'm not really a football fan but I'll show my support for whatever he team he likes. If you're a football fan, please take no offense. I do like sports, football is just not one of them. Here's my attempt at supporting Jesse's Jets and then they decide to go throw back :/ Like I said yesterday the pic did this mani no justice, it really is an emerald green. I promise!
P.S. If I can finish the ton of homework I have I just may do another mani! hehe :0)

Jesse's Green

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope it's been as fabulous as mine. Heading out to celebrate my BFF's dad's birthday. I hope y'all enjoy this funky frenchie. I just love this frenchie, the picture does it no justice! Jesse's fav color is green, so that's the color of the day :0) The green has specs of gold when it's photoed, It took longer to get a decent pic because of that and I think it took me longer to take the pic than it did to do the mani. The polish is an emerald green, very pretty bold color. I just love this green! A Matte emerald green and black tips would have been awesome! I have no Matte colors in my stash :( One day though.
I used 1 coat of Seche Ultra V, 2 coats of Sinful Colors San Francisco, taped my nails, and tipped with Wet n Wild Black Black Creme

And the winner is #3

I did some water marble designs today. I'm still deciding if it's worth my time. If you know me, I don't like complicated. The clean up time was way too long and it was sooooo messy and even the clean up looked messy :/ I got really aggravated. It could be my clean up tools need to get updated :-) I'm not posting that pic! Way too shameful. Lol! I also practiced with stamping. I like :-) The plate I used has small designs and needs to be placed just right. When I did stamp the design, since it's small it looked like it was missing that umph, you know how you look at something and say it's missing something. That's how I felt :( Anyway after 3 manis this is what I chose.
For This I used 1 coat of Seche Ultra V, 2 coats of Sally Hansens Diamond Strength Diamonds, taped my fingers, tipped with N.Y.C Big Apple Red Creme, and finished with 1 coat of Seche Ultra V Top Coat.

Tropicana Orange

Today, I went to Walmart looking for Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength Fairy Tale Ivory. Luck was not with me. I knew I should've picked it up when I saw it last week :/ Anyway I ended up buying Pure Ice Pure Ice Platinum, Sally Hansen's Diamond Strength Diamonds and Crayola set scented nail polish. I used the Crayola Green Apple (I couldn't smell the green apple though) for this frenchie. I really liked the consistency of the polish. Not too thick, not too thin, just right. I haven't tried the Pure Ice or Sally Hansen, but I have used these before and like them. I didn't change yesterday's polish and just used it as the base coat. When I did this frenchie as soon as I saw the color combo I instantly thought of Tropicana Orange Juice.

For this I taped my fingers, added the Crayola Green Apple Polish and 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

Glittery Navel

Today I was going to do a frenchie but liked the 9021Orange so much I just left it as is. It's so shiny and glittery it just made me smile :) I think I'll just do a quick frenchie or stamp it with a design tomorrow. I can't wait to get a camera to show you guys the real colors! Ok, off to study for finals.
I used 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 4 coats of Wet n Wild fast dry 9.0.2.1.Orange, and 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

Just for fun

Today I played for a bit with different colors and checked out a few other blogs. I tried my hand at a few of the frenchies I saw. I won't post those pics because the colors I chose were not so hot together so I didn't take pics of those. One mani I did was gold and black, the lighting makes it look yellow. The pic does not do justice to the mani at all!  I'll post both pics. I was going to try some different designs but I had to leave so I just had to settle for a crackle mani today. Here's the pics. Crap, I didn't clean up to good :/ Anyway enjoy :)

For this I used 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Sinful Colors This Is It, 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat, taped my nails, 1 coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme, and 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

This is what I ended up with.
I used 1 coat Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Wet n Wild Sage in the City and 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry, 1 coat of China Glaze Crackle Platinum Pieces, 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

Princess Jasmine

Ok, I should have left well enough alone. LOL Some of my manis look so much better in my mind :) I'll post the before tips pic. When I first put my base color I was like wow this is really pretty. It reminded my of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin. I was just tickled about it and then I put the tips and deflated like a balloon :( Oh well, I was happy as Tom chasing Jerry. On the bright side my man said he likes the color, he too sweet. Ok, so here's my pics.
                                                                       Before
                                                                        After
For this I used: 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Wet n Wild Teal or No Teal, 1 coat of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie (shoulda stopped there) 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat, taped my fingers, tipped it with Sinful Colors Love Nails :( and 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

I won, not the polish

Yesterdays mani really bothered me, so had to redo it. And, I was absolutely right. It was the 3rd coat of my base color. Me being me just had to figure out what went wrong. Instead of 3 coats of my base color I used only 2. Here's the pic.

Blue Skies

Today, I dedicate my Funky Frenchie to those who lost loved ones on 9/11. I know those lost loved ones are in the Grand Stands of Heaven making sure that each and everyone of their loved ones are getting the blessings they deserve. I thank all those who assisted and those who sacrificed their lives helping others get to safety. Those are the real HEROES.

I chose yellow as my base color, representing the sun, and blue as my tip, representing the sky, and silver crackle representing the clouds. The cracks are God's love shining through.
As you can see my tips were precise. I think I should have added a top coat after I added the blue tips, maybe the line wouldn't have bled. Oh well, lesson learned :)
For this I used 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 1 coat of Sinful Colors Lets Meet, 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat, taped my nails, 1 coat of Wet n Wild fast dry Saved by the Blue and finished with Sally Hansen InstaDry Anti-Chip Top Coat.

Chic Turquoise

So, I get home and couldn't wait to change my mani. I was really bummed about changing this mani. I have to say, so far it's my all time fav mani. Dang smudge! The red was like a cherry tomato and just had a pop I loved. So today's Funky Frenchie mani was not what I had in mind, I was going for a deep dark turquoise for the tips. Since my stash isn't that big (yet...lol) my choices were limited and the color I had wasn't dark enough and opted for black tips. I'll save that mani for another day and when I get the perfect color. I ended up just using a black tip. Black always makes things chic anyway :)
For this I used 1 coat Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Wet n Wild fast dry Teal or No Teal, 1 coat of Sally Hansen Anti-Chip Top Coat, 1 coat of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, taped my fingers, 1 coat of Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris, 1 coat of Wet n Wild fast dry and finished with 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat.

What The Heck!

So, I'm driving this morning and I take a look at my Houston Texans mani and low and behold there's smudge! I'm like what the heck! I didn't have time to worry about it or go back home and change out my mani. Well, the first thing I did when I got home after my busy day was change my mani (I'll blog about that later) Here is what my smudged mani looked like :/

Houston Texans Funky Frenchie

Today's Funky Frenchie is in honor of my BF and the beginning of the football season. I tell you I amazed myself today! These colors together totally rock! Even I was impressed with my mani.
For this I used 1 coat of Beauty Secrets Top Coat, 2 coats of Wet & Wild Everybody Loves Redmond, 1 coat of Sally Hansen Anti-Chip Top Coat, I taped my nails, added 1 coat of N.Y.C. Skin Tight Denim Creme, on top of the tip I added 1 coat of China Glaze Platinum Pieces Crackle and finished it off with 1 coat of Sally Hansen Anti-Chip Top Coat.

My very first blog!

Hi Everyone,

This is my very first blog. I have no followers yet, but I know in time I'll have at least one. I'm very excited about my blog! I get to talk about one of the many things I love. What is that you say? Well French Tip Nails of course, hense the name "Funky Frenchies." I love love love french tipped nails or a great design. (sometimes some colors are great as is too) In my opinion everything else is just boring (just sayin). I look forward to talking to you all soon, so I won't have to talk to myself :) P.S I'm not a professional ok, so be nice. lol :)

This is my Funky Frenchie from yesterday. Reminded my of the circus, go figure.

For this I used 1 coat of beauty secrets top coat, 2 coats of wet & wild saved by blue, 1 coat of sinful colors Hottie, 1 coat of Sally Hansen anti chip top coat. I then taped  my my fingers and added 1 coat of N.Y.C skin tight denim creme and finished with 1 coat of Sally Hansen anti chip top coat. I really didn't care for this blue Funky Frenchie, only because I'm not a fan of blue on my fingers. But it was really pretty and because it chipped I just had to do another Funky Frenchie :)
My Dubai Funky French

This Funky Frenchie was not what I had in mind. I was supposed to do a green tip but the base color had a red tint and so did not go with the green tip I had in mind, oh well, that'll be for another day.
For this I used 1 coat of beauty secrets top coat, 1 coat of Orly French Manicure (the one that had the red tint), 2 coats of wet & wild 9.0.2.1. Orange, get it?  90210 lol, 1 coat of seviche ulta v top coat. I taped my nails and added 1 coat of sinful colors under 18 with 2 flower decal designs topped with 1 coat of beauty secrets top coat. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
