Mars

Hi ladies, I hope y'all's weekend is off to a great start. Just a quick post. Today I have another Urban Decay. This is Mars from the same collection as Hot Mess. This is the one I "just liked." If y'all would like to see the others let me know, because I have no plans to show them. I just didn't care for them. This is a shimmery turquoise. I used 2 coats and topped with Essie Good 2 Go. Have a great weekend ladies :D

Samantha

Hi ladies, Yay, it's Friday! I hope y'all have an awesome weekend :D FYI: This a wordy and pic heavy post, so if want to skip and go straight to the pics I don't mind.

Today's franken is for a very special lady. Here's a little story about Samantha:

20 years ago a friend of mine went to see me at work and said, "Minnie, Julie's baby has red hair! I was like, "Really?" I said to myself, "I need to go visit Julie." And, sure enough when I finally did go see her 3 days later, she had red hair. Who new 20 years ago I'd be looking at my future daughter-in-law. She's my Baby Boy's love. She's not only beautiful outside, she's beautiful inside as well. I was telling someone I have three kids, that person said, "What do you mean 3 kids, you only have 2 sons?" I said, "Well, Samantha is married to my son, so that now makes her my daughter." For those of you that know me, know that the sun rises and sets on my Baby Boy and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him. What does that have to do with Samantha? Well now the sun rises and sets on her too and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her. God was really smiling down on me all those years ago. I couldn't have asked for anyone better for my son to spend the rest of his life with. I love you Sam thank you for loving my Baby Boy :D

For Sam I created an awesome green. It looks like freshly cut grass. I love this color and for some reason I like green for her. Maybe it's the red hair idk. Anyway, I used a top coat, added some green micro glitter. I didn't want a clear base because it would've taken way too many coats to reach opacity, so I added a few drops of a dark green polish. This is 2 coats. I'm including pics with and w/o top coat. Like I always say, I wish I could create something as beautiful as her, but that's not gonna happen :D have a nice Friday ladies

Paz

Hi ladies, I hope y'all's week has been great so far. It's getting closer to the weekend! Whoop Whoop!

Just a quick post. Today, I have Zoya Paz. This is a neon orange and when I say neon I mean neon! This is from their La-Di-Da collection. Zoya's description of this color: "Ultra-bright glowing neon traffic-cone orange creme. This outrageous shade is sure to stop traffic."  Well, that's an under statement if their ever was one! I was very surprised maybe even a bit startled. I felt I should be wearing a radio active suit or something O.o  I wasn't going to post this, but felt it deserved a post just for fun. The formula was great though, easy to apply, a one coater and dried to a matte finish. I didn't add TC. Have a great day ladies :D

Plan B

Hi ladies, I know today is Pink Wednesday and I did have a pink mani to show y'all, but my LP is nuts and won't upload my pics. I even took pics with my iCam and nothing is working. So, instead I have a franken I did a couple of weeks ago. This is my right hand so please excuse the awkwardness of my hands and the clean up is a bit sad. Two of the pics may seem like they're my right hand, but they're not. The magic of editing pics! Haha :D Not bad though, I've had much worse looking left handed painted manis. lol

Ok, this is a dark navy blue or royal blue. I think it's royal blue :D In this pic you really can't see the shimmer but it's there IRL and it looks awesome! I really love it! Now thinking about it I have 2 colors like this, the difference is the shimmer. One is Revlon Midnight Affair, which I've already posted about and a Zoya I have but haven't swatched but looking at the bottle is does look a bit similar. I used a Sally Hansen polish added some shimmer. I used SV BC, 2 coats of my franken and topped with Essie Good 2 Go TC.

Hot Mess

Hi ladies, It's Monday, the start of a brand new week! Today, I have part of Urban Decay's Holiday Nail Kit I received for Christmas. I was so excited about this collection, but ended up only really loving one, liking one, and undecided about another. The one I really loved is Hot Mess. This a very bright and vibrant rasberry-ish color. Just awesome. Formula was great and easy to apply. It reminds me of Zoya's Anaka. I'll talk bout the others in a separate post. I used SV BC, 2 coats of Hot Mess and topped with Essie Good 2 Go TC. This 1st pic is direct sunlight and the other is in the shade.  Oh, I'm holding Essie's Good 2 Go bottle because the Urban Decay bottles were too tiny to hold. Have a great day ladies :D

Yummy

Hi ladies, I hope y'all's weekend has been great :D Today I have Zoya Yummy. This is a sky blue cream. Formula wise it was like their other creams. I don't know I feel about this color, it is pretty, but I felt it needed something more. I think this would be a great base color to stamp on. I wasn't in the mood to stamp, so I added my franken TC that I used over Midnight Affair. I'm going to include that pic so you can see the difference layered over different colors. Have a great day ladies :D

Hi ladies, The weekend is here! WHOOP WHOOP! Just a quick post.

Ok, about yesterdays franken. As I was painting my nails, I kept thinking this looks familiar. So I went searching through my stash and found  Zoya's Anaka and Izzy.  Anaka is a bit lighter and looks a bit freaky in the pic. I think it probably has more shimmer in it, Izzy was a bit more frosty and didn't come close to either of these.  Ava's was a jelly, the other 2 were not, but that could be because most of Ava's formula was TC. Have a great day ladies :D

Ava Linda

Hi lovely ladies, It's Friday! Yay!

Ok, we all know I've been playing around with frankening. One day I'll sell them, but right now I'm having so much fun! Today, I have Ava Linda. Ava was a great surprise to my family. I remember I was shopping and I get a call from bff. She said, "I have something to tell you. Are you sitting down?' Well, I thought she was gonna tell me she/we won the lotto. LOL She says, "We're having another baby!" I was so happy, I was practically yelling "YAY!" in the store. Actually I did get a few inquisitive glances. HAHA Man oh man, of all my nieces, Ava is the most feisty one of the bunch. She's not afraid of anything and if she wants something she gets it! Watch out world Ava is on her way! I chose a deep raspberry color for her. We'll get into the color more with tomorrow's post. For this I just used 3/4 of a TC I was never gonna use and 1/4 burgundy that I didn't care and was never gonna make it to Funky Frenchies. LOL Then, I just added some shimmer. I think I created a jelly. WHOOP WHOOP :)

I didn't have the heart to crop the pics, you get to see Ava and Athens together :D In case any of you missed last weeks post Athens is the red head.

Now for the beauty behind my inspiration! The lovely Ava Linda :D

See, she has that look in her eyes! LOL

Here with her mommy :D

Blue Wants To A Millionaire

Hi ladies, Thursday is here, which means we're closer to the weekend :D Sorry, I didn't post yesterday. I had a ton of homework and I fear the weekend I'll be swamped as well :(

Today, I have Wet n Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire. I bought this last year around October O.O Anyway, inside this color looks smokey blue, but in the sun it's a soft blue with a lot of sparkle. I was pleasantly surprised and received a lot of compliments with this color. This is a very sheer holo blue and (to me)  jelly-ish and applied like butter. I just love it! I used 3 coats and topped with Essie Good 2 go. I'm practicing my left handed painting skills (I'm right handed) so you get to see my right hand. Not to bad if I do say so myself, but of course the formula was awesome, so application was easy breezy :D I couldn't get a good firm grip on the bottle so my fingers looks kinda awkward, so just focus on the pretty color :D The second pic is kinda blurry, but I wanted y'all to see the pretty multicolored glitter. Have a great day ladies :D

Zoya True 2012 Spring Collection

Hi everyone, I hope y'all are having a great day :D Today, I have Zoya's 2012 True Spring Collection. I'm not going to say a lot. Just straight to the pics. All pics are with SV BC, 2 coats, and topped With Essie Good 2 go TC. I'm taking Zoya's description then adding my thoughts :D I'll swatch these with the Fleck Effect Mylar Glazes sometime next week. I know, that's long time but I have a lot going on this week. Have a great day ladies.

"Cho is an opaque yellow-toned light soft peachy beige with a hint of ultra fine silver shimmer. A light, creamy nude especially nice for skin tones with olive or yellow undertones." When I put this on I like hmmm....I think I have a skin tone with blue undertones, I may be wrong I haven't checked. Anyway, I can see myself stamping with this for Valentine's Day.  Formula wise, it went on a bit patchy but leveled out quite nicely with the 2nd coat.

"Farah is an opaque light khaki-beige with subtle sandy, greenish undertones and a cream finish.  An always appropriate neutral to add to your polish wardrobe." Very work appropriate. I'm just not a fan of nudes. For me, I'd probably stamp over it, to give it some life or  stamp with it.  Formula wise, it went on a bit patchy but leveled out quite nicely with the 2nd coat.

"Bevin is a dusty, medium sage green with teal tones and a creamy opaque finish.  A stylish and unique shade for when you want something different from the usual mint green." I think Bevin is a color for those who want color, but not too much color.   Formula wise, it went on a bit patchy but leveled out quite nicely with the 2nd coat. Do you see the pattern with the application for these cremes?

"Skylar is a medium steel blue with a softened, dusty look and speckled by visible gold and silver shimmer flecks.  A soft blue that's bold without being too dark, bright or flashy." OMG!!! I love Skylar,  This my fav of the collection. The formula is awesome, it applied like butter.. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

"Lotus is a very soft, dusty blue-toned amethyst purple with colorful shimmer that reflects pink, red and gold.  A dreamy smoky shade for purple lovers that looks both soft and luminous."  Very lovely color. Formula wise, it was a bit thinner than Skylar, but still very easy to work with. I didn't have patchy problems like did with the cremes.

"Tru is A saturated, red-toned grape purple with speckled shimmer that reflects gold, orange and red.  Bold and saturated warm color made even more interesting with color-shifting shimmer."  Very nice.  Formula wise, it was dream to apply.

My final thoughts: The cremes went on a bit patchy, but nothing that didn't level out. The shimmers were just heaven to apply. All are work appropriate and can be worn with so many different outfits. Very spring-y and something for everyone.

Midnight Affair

Hi ladies, It's Monday the start of a brand new week :D Today I have Revlon Midnight Affair. My bff gave this to me for Christmas. I love this color, it's a sexy, chic and sophisticated shimmery royal blue. It's a very bold color! I usually stay away from dark colors like this because I don't think they look good on my skin tone, but my bff w/o knowing always pushes outside my comfort zone. I'm totally loving this color. Thanks bff :D Formula wise it was a bit on the thin side but very manageable. I used 2 coats and topped with a franken top coat I made. Boy did it change the color of this blue! It's like a metallic/foil teal. I'm still teaching myself to franken so please bear with me as I play :D You may be seeing this top coat a lot over different colors. Have a great day ladies :D

China Glaze Lighthouse

Hi lovely ladies, I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far :D Today, I have China Glaze Lighthouse from their 2011 Anchors Away Collection.  This is jelly based shiny shimmery bright yellow. This was a bit sheer. The formula was great, very easy to apply.  I used 3 coats and topped with Essie Good to Go. I was going to do a Texans themed mani, but didn't want to fuss too much. So, I chose this awesome bright yellow so they'd be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel as they play the Ravens today. LOL Have a great Sunday :D

OPI Muppettes

Hi ladies :D I hopes y'all's weekend is off to a great start. Today I have a 4 swatches from OPI's Muppettes Collection. I bought the 4 pc mini nail set a while back. There wasn't a color I didn't like. All four were pretty and in my mind I could totally see Miss Piggy wearing these. All 4 are 2 coats with the exception of Wocka Wocka!

Wocka Wocka! It's a very pretty blue toned red. I used one coat here. My dog started going beserko and I stared chasing him and then I just started snapping pics. No TC Sorry :(

Designer...de Better! is a silver metallic with medium pink glitter. I was very surprised to find that I actually like this color.

Warm and Fozzie is a brown/gold/pink duochrome. This is all kinds of crazy awesome. It has some pink, red and maybe even purple small glitter. This one was my fav of the 4.

Excuse Moi! is a warm pink base with tons of multicolored glitter. It is a pink therefore my least fav, but it is pretty. One of my lovely followers mentioned it was similar to NOPI's  Something Spar-Kylie so you can see the difference I added those pics. Excuse Moi! pics were taken with morning sun and Something Spar-Kylie was evening sun. They are similar, but not the same Excuse Moi! has medium multicolored glitter along with micro glitter, whereas Something Spar-Kylie is only micro glitter. Excuse Moi! is more pinky based (to me) and Something Spar-Kylie was more rose-ish based. My ring finger nail has grown a lot in 1 week! Whoop Whoop :D
