Franken Friday

Hi my peeps, it's Friday! YAY :D Just a quick post.

You all have seen today's franken before but I wanted to show it over purple.  You can click here for the original post. This was taken last week pre-nubbins.  I haven't had a lot of time, so I had to go into the vault for this one. I hope you like it.

Have a great day :D

No, it's not Friday :D

Hi everyone :D I hope y'all's week is off to a great start.  Today I have just a quick post.

Before I get to today's post.  I was coming home from school yesterday and the mail man was filling the mail boxes.  I swear I have 5/5 not 20/20 vision, because I zoomed in on the package in my box! Haha Anyway, I'd like to say a big thank you to my lovely reader Jen Sky Walker. And, guess what?! Her husband is Luke Sky Walker! How awesome is that! Ok, that was off subject. LOL Anyway, she won some goodies from Sephora and she sent me part of her prize! She sent it very nicely packaged and sent me the sweetest note, I just had to share. Isn't she sweet, thank you Jen :D

I didn't do a Franken Friday, so I thought I'd post one today :D This is a turquoise blue top coat.  I used Orly Liquid Vinyl as my base color.  I really love how this franken turned out!  I did one coat and then for a more dramatic look I added a 2nd coat.  Ok, in the pics my middle finger looks jacked up! It totally does not look this way in real life, I promise.  I think it was the awkward grip on the bottle :(

 Have a great day :D

Scream Queen

Hi everyone :D It's Monday again! Time to start new! I hope y'all's weekend was great. It was a great one for me, it was a Bishop TD Jakes weekend.  If you've never heard him speak, you should :D Talk about keeping it real, he keeps it real! Welcome new followers, I'm so happy to have you here :D

Ok, Today, I have a franken polish from Spooky Bones, Scream Queen A Strange Polish. This is an orange red jelly with micro glitter and shard like glitter. The formula was great, it was kind of thin and thick, I know that makes no sense. I say that because a lot (thick) of polish stayed on the brush, but once I was painting my nails it was thin, but not too thin that it flooded my cuticles. A lot of the microglitter stayed on the brush, the shard like glitter was a bit tricky, I shook the bottle for each nail to make sure I got it on the brush.  Did I have to do this?  IDK, but this is what I sometimes do with my frankens, I figured it couldn't hurt.  I used 2 coats (if you're super awesome at painting your nails, you could probably do one) and topped with 3 coats of SV. It still had a textured feel though, so it may need an extra coat. Over all, I love this polish and will definitely be buying more from Spooky Bones! Great job Spooky Bones! Have a great day y'all :D

She has an Etsy store and sells her frankens for $7 or you can click here and check out her store.

Franken Friday

Hi lovelies, Friday is here! Yay! I hope you all have fun plans. We do, tonight we're taking my mom to celebrate! :D

Today's franken is a RED!  You already know I love it! LOL Ok, maybe it's more of a burgundy. Hehe  I usually play a while before I get the right color.  Well, this time I didn't get to play very long :(  I was in love with it on the first try. While I do love it, it's not the color I was going for.  I wanted a more vampish look but forgot to add the black nail polish and I'd already filled the bottle :/  This is almost a one coater, Rimmels have great formulas but they leave bald spots.  I used 3 coats for more depth, but 2 would've been fine and topped with 2 coats SV TC.  None of my pics do this justice, I'm so bummed because I did not skimp on the glitter and wanted you all to see it.  But, once you go outside boy does this just sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! I added a video so you all can see at least some of the sparkle (It was night time, but it least you'll be able to some of the awesomeness) :D Please don't laugh my honey worked really hard on this. HEHE I hope you all like it. I've added a not so good pic of the Color Club nail polishes I'm giving away for this weekends mini giveaway. Have a great Friday :D

Franken Friday

Hi my peeps, Friday is here! I hope y'all have some fun plans to kick start the weekend. I don't know what my plans are yet. Maybe I'll stalk Leighton Denny's and Cult Nails website and add more to my wish list. LOL

Today's franken is a top coat I created using a gold/purple shimmer and added red microglitter. I love this color! I used it over a Color Club dark blue. Idk the name because it doesn't have the name on the bottle and I was too lazy to for it. You can't see the gold shimmer on the nail but it's still a great color. I think I got this right on the first try and won't be tweaking this one :D This is pic heavy because I didn't know which pics to use. Have a great day everyone.

Franken Friday

Hi ladies, It's Friday! WHOO HOO! Tonight I'm going to see Tyler Perry's new movie Good Deeds and then we'll see what's up for the weekend.

Ok, I went way out of my comfort zone with today's franken.  I was a bit intimidated at first because I'm like can I make a color that's not really a color, but a color. LOL Did that make sense?  Anyway, I wanted something office appropriate when I go on my externship in a few months.  I wanted something barely there, simple yet chic.  I think I achieved that with this color.  As I was creating this, I was thinking "Aww man, I'm so gonna have lobster claws! Arrgghh!" But I don't :D This is a very pretty champagne color.  I used 2 coats and topped with SV TC.  I hope you like it ladies.  Have a great Friday :D Don't forget tomorrow is my International Trivia Weekend Mini Giveaway. It'll be posted at 7:00 A.M.  I'm in Houston, Texas (central time zone) so make sure y'all calculate the time difference :D Ok, now have a nice day. :D

Star Wars

Hi ladies :D Just a quick post. I hope y'all's Friday is off to a great start! I don't have school on Fridays, so it's great already :D Also, welcome new followers! I'm very happy to have you here at Funky Frenchies :D

I love today's franken! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I used a black creme, top coat, multicolored glitter, and added some green/blue/purple shimmer. This shifted from green to blue to purple and the glitter just added another dimension! The black (Rimmel) creme was a little thick so I added some thinner too and the glitter I used bleed some :( I'll have to look for another one. This is one recipe I'll be playing with to get just right.

I was instantly reminded of Star Wars (the original.) There is so much going on here! It's just awesome! Even my mom, who usually doesn't notice my manis (unless it's red, her fav color) noticed! None of my pics do this justice. In real life it's bling bling too! Ok, enough of my ramblings. This is very pic heavy. I couldn't decide which pics to use and I wanted y'all to be able to see all the pretty colors. I hope you like it. Have a great day ladies :D

I usually don't take pics this way, but just look at this awesomeness!!!

Franken Friday

Hi ladies, The weekend is almost here! WOOT WOOT! I don't have any big plans for the weekend, just laze around and stalk the net :D I hope y'all have more exciting plans than me :D

Today, have a franken I did last week. About 4 months ago I bought NARS Galion and didn't care for it on my nails, so it never made it to Funky Frenchies. I was quite disappointed since I spent $17 O.o Galion is a blue-blackish gray. Well, I was looking at all my untried's and the never made it to's and decided to try and make Galion likable to me. It is more likable to me, but I'm thinking I could've added some micro glitter or something, idk, but I do like the end result and will wear it again. It looks black but then it doesn't, according to one of my classmates. My poor classmates, they get to see my manis and frankens before anyone else and are probably all polished out. lol I did my pinky with Galion so y'all can see what it looks like. Have a great Friday everyone :D

You Can't Win Em All

Hi ladies, It's Tuesday I hope y'all's week is going great. Sorry about the late post, I got sick last night and slept in today. Today, anything that could go wrong with my mani went wrong :/ I decided to leave my comfort zone and wear white. I'm using Savvy French White White and let me tell you I think white out would have been better! I've probably worn this before, but I'm too lazy to look. I wasn't going to show this mani, but, well, it is what it is. Since I didn't really care for this color, but not wanting to remove it I whipped up a flakie franken top coat. You can't really see the flakies, but it does make you go, "hmm...what is that." It's kinda Christmas-y, but it somewhat made this white wearable. I used 2 coats of French White White, topped with my flakie franken, and added Beauty Secrets Fast Finish. Have a great ladies :D

Hazel Eyes

Hi ladies, The weekend is almost here! WHOO HOO! Franken Friday, YAY! You all are probably tired of seeing my frankens, but I'm having so much fun and can't help it. My inspiration came from a pic of my son's eye. LOL I love this pic! Yes, you'll be seeing it in this post. HAHA I don't think I came close to the color of his beautiful eyes, but I sure had fun trying. There's just something about playing with colors that I love so much! I used a dark forest green and mixed in some tan. I probably should've added more tan to the green and then I added some gold shimmer. I used 2 coats (I could've used one thick coat) Then, just for fun I added Essie's Matte About You TC. I love this franken. I have a Zoya I wore last weekend and it kinda looks like that, but I didn't take pics :( I'll do that later. The sun hasn't been out the past few days so you get just drab dreary pics and my nail broke, if I have to live with it, you do too! HEHE Sorry ladies O.O

If you look closely, you'll see my beautiful daughter-in-law in his eye!

Cancun Blue

Hi lovely ladies, Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I've been super busy.

Today, I have a franken to share. I really love this color. It reminds of the beaches in Cancun. I'm sure there are much prettier beaches, but that's the one I've been too (so far) :D I can't remember what I used in this recipe, good thing I wrote it in my recipe book :D Anyway, I hope y'all like it. Have a great day.

Today is my son's 24th birthday.  I remember all those years ago, the sun was rising as I was on my way to the hospital and the sun was setting when he was born. So, yes, the sun rises and sets on my baby :D There isn't anything you can't do, you are anointed, approved, destined to live your life in victory. Anything you touch will prosper. You will always be the head and never the tail. You will always be the lender and never the borrower. Happy Birthday David, I love you!

Me and my Baby Boy

Even though you're married you'll always be my baby, my loving son.
