Order of the Garter

Hey everyone :D It's Thankful Thursday! That means it's closer to the weekend! YAY :D I just have a quick post today.

I chose a England Order of the Garter. This is a great blue with a teal shimmer. The formula was a little different from the other 2 I tried, not in a bad way just different. The first coat was a little sheer, but with the second coat it was fully opaque. I love it and instantly wanted to go to the beach. I'm beginning to think blues put me in a beachy mood. Hip Hop Hippity Hop

Hi ladies and gents :D It's Pink Wednesday.  I hope it's been a great week so far for you all.

Today, I have DollishPolish Hip Hop Hippity Hop. HHHH is a pastel pink with turquoise, blue, and pink glitter.  I may be wrong but that's I what I saw. The formula was great.  I used two coats.  You all know me and pink don't get along. LOL I'm not saying I don't like this color because I do.  It's very girly and if you know me in real life, I very rarely do girly.  If you're a pink lover and like girly this is one you should add to your collection.  She has an Etsy Store and sells these for $8.

Warrior Ethos

Hi everyone! It's Monday! WHOOP WHOOP! You know what that means right? NO? Well, I get to start the week with my favorite nail color, RED! LOL :D

Welcome new followers, I'm so happy to have you here :D

Today, I have my first Nerd Lacquer. Since I like to start the week with red, I chose Warrior Ethos. As always I don't have anything negative to say about the color itself. Come on, it's red :D It has gold and black hex glitter along with black and (I think) gold micro glitter, it might be red micro glitter though O.O I think I even saw some purple hex in there too. I love it!  The formula was great, it was almost a one coater, but I used two for full coverage. I can't wait to try the others! She has an Etsy Store and sells these great polishes for $10.

East Village

Hi everyone, It's Thankful Thursday, the weekend is almost here! :D

Just a quick post.

Today, I have NYC East Village.  This is a very pretty turquoise. Formula wise, it was very thin and sheer. I used 3 coats and it still left brush strokes.  I'm also thinking it could've used another coat too.  Have a great day everyone :D

Wing Fling

Hi everyone :D I hope you all are having a fabulous Pink Wednesday.

Today, I have another Color Club from their Take Wing Summer 2012 Collection.  This is a fabulous metallic/foil fuchsia.  I used 2 coats, but it's almost a one coater.  Then I layered Flame and Fortune over it and used 2 coats of CG Fast Forward TC.  Flame and Fortune is a shard like glitter and kinda reminds me of a feminine version of CG's Lux and Lush. You may need to put an extra coat of TC because the shards may stick up/out. I know because I scratched myself a few hours later.  I really love how this mani turned out though.  It looks so festive and girly! The pics do not do it justice I could not capture the awesomeness. I know the pics look the same, I just couldn't decide so you get to see two. LOL Oh, Sorry about the cray cray way I took the pics.  I broke my middle nail :(

No, it's not Friday :D

Hi everyone :D I hope y'all's week is off to a great start.  Today I have just a quick post.

Before I get to today's post.  I was coming home from school yesterday and the mail man was filling the mail boxes.  I swear I have 5/5 not 20/20 vision, because I zoomed in on the package in my box! Haha Anyway, I'd like to say a big thank you to my lovely reader Jen Sky Walker. And, guess what?! Her husband is Luke Sky Walker! How awesome is that! Ok, that was off subject. LOL Anyway, she won some goodies from Sephora and she sent me part of her prize! She sent it very nicely packaged and sent me the sweetest note, I just had to share. Isn't she sweet, thank you Jen :D

I didn't do a Franken Friday, so I thought I'd post one today :D This is a turquoise blue top coat.  I used Orly Liquid Vinyl as my base color.  I really love how this franken turned out!  I did one coat and then for a more dramatic look I added a 2nd coat.  Ok, in the pics my middle finger looks jacked up! It totally does not look this way in real life, I promise.  I think it was the awkward grip on the bottle :(

Romanticism Ruby

Hi there everyone :D I love Mondays, it's the start of a brand new week. Out with the old, in with the new! I hope y'all had a great weekend. Mine was fun, fun, fun! My honey's niece came over and we played with nail polish :D Then we went to a craw fish boil. OMG, the best I've had! I was supposed to show you all my St Patrick's Day mani, but it turned into a disaster after all the craw fish peeling I did :(

Ok, today, I have Finger Paints Romanticism Ruby.  So, everyone knows what my take is on red. If not, I LOVE IT! This kinda looks like China Glaze Ruby Pumps.  The formula was great, application is was easy breezy. It does dry with a lot of grit and is top coat thirsty. In the pics I had one coat and you can tell it was thirsty for more. I ended up using 3, and it could easily have used 2 more O.O Have a great Monday everyone :D

Sparkle and Soar

Hi everyone! I hope y'all's weekend has been great.

I have just a quick post today.  I have Sparkle and Soar from Color Clubs Take Wing Summer 2012 Collection.  I did buy the collection and can't wait to try those. This is one awesome orange and yellow shimmer.  The formula was great and applied like butter. I did not want to take this off.  This is one awesome summer color! Have a great Sunday everyone :D

Pink Wednesday

Hi everyone :D Today I have a detailed post so I'm just gonna get right to it.

For Pink Wednesday I have another franken called Cherries Jubilee.  I was browsing YouTube and came across a very unique and different polish.  It comes with 3 items; color palette concentrate, wonder wand, clear fusing liquid. I'm going to explain in detail before each pic so you all can visualize it better. Before that though, let me just say the formula was great.  I don't know if anyone has heard about this polish and thought it would be fun to try and then share with you all :D

Ok, here you have the color palette concentrate and the wonder wand. You have to stir it because all the glitter has settled on the bottom. 

Ok, after you mix the polish, you can add some of the liquid fusion (top coat basically) to thin it out if you want. You don't have to do this. I did though. I'm thinking next time I won't. Then you just dip the brush from the liquid fusion into the nail polish and paint your nails :D

This is 3 coats topped with SV, I didn't know if the fusion is fast dry, so I didn't use it. Two coats would've been fine though

Princess Sabra

Hi ladies and gents :D I hope y'all's week was off to a great start. I have just a quick post today.

Today, at school they're making us do mock job interviews O.o This is the part of school I that annoys me :/ I wanted something office appropriate but trendy at the same time. So, I chose a england Princess Sabra. I think I can pull this off without drawing too much attention to my hands. LOL  Like Princess Tears, the formula was just awesome, effortless application, like butter I tell you.  This is my fav of two.  When I put this on all I saw were My Baby Boy's eyes :D I love, love, love this polish! I used 2 coats and topped with SV, you could probably use 1 thick coat. Have a great day :D

Scream Queen

Hi everyone :D It's Monday again! Time to start new! I hope y'all's weekend was great. It was a great one for me, it was a Bishop TD Jakes weekend.  If you've never heard him speak, you should :D Talk about keeping it real, he keeps it real! Welcome new followers, I'm so happy to have you here :D

Ok, Today, I have a franken polish from Spooky Bones, Scream Queen A Strange Polish. This is an orange red jelly with micro glitter and shard like glitter. The formula was great, it was kind of thin and thick, I know that makes no sense. I say that because a lot (thick) of polish stayed on the brush, but once I was painting my nails it was thin, but not too thin that it flooded my cuticles. A lot of the microglitter stayed on the brush, the shard like glitter was a bit tricky, I shook the bottle for each nail to make sure I got it on the brush.  Did I have to do this?  IDK, but this is what I sometimes do with my frankens, I figured it couldn't hurt.  I used 2 coats (if you're super awesome at painting your nails, you could probably do one) and topped with 3 coats of SV. It still had a textured feel though, so it may need an extra coat. Over all, I love this polish and will definitely be buying more from Spooky Bones! Great job Spooky Bones! Hi everyone, I hope y'all's weekend has been great so far :D Mine has been fabulous! Last night I went to see Bishop TD Jakes at church.  It was awesome! My honey bought his book Let It Go and I was telling him I can't wait to read it. And he say's to me, "You mean after you finish the other books?" (I'm reading 3 books right now.)  LOL I'm like, "No, I'm going to add it."  What can I say I love to read :D

Ok, I forgot to schedule a post for today.  Usually the manis I post I wore them the week before except for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I actually wear those colors. I had to go in the vault for this one.  I wore this the week I wore Revlon's Fire Fox. This is Zoya Mitzi from the Mod Mattes Collection. I had a difficult time with this.  It was very thick and bumpy, TC did not help. Then I decided to add Nubar 2010 to try and save this mani.  No luck :( I did like the color though, it reminded me of Shrek.  This is 2 coats, with 1 coat of Nubar, and 1 coat of SV TC.  Have a great day :D

Franken Friday

Hi lovelies, Friday is here! Yay! I hope you all have fun plans. We do, tonight we're taking my mom to celebrate! :D

Today's franken is a RED!  You already know I love it! LOL Ok, maybe it's more of a burgundy. Hehe  I usually play a while before I get the right color.  Well, this time I didn't get to play very long :(  I was in love with it on the first try. While I do love it, it's not the color I was going for.  I wanted a more vampish look but forgot to add the black nail polish and I'd already filled the bottle :/  This is almost a one coater, Rimmels have great formulas but they leave bald spots.  I used 3 coats for more depth, but 2 would've been fine and topped with 2 coats SV TC.  None of my pics do this justice, I'm so bummed because I did not skimp on the glitter and wanted you all to see it.  But, once you go outside boy does this just sparkle, sparkle, sparkle! I added a video so you all can see at least some of the sparkle (It was night time, but it least you'll be able to some of the awesomeness) :D Please don't laugh my honey worked really hard on this. Pop Rock Pink

Hi lovelies, It's Thankful Thursday! The weekend is almost here :D

Today, I have Finger Paints Pop Rock Pink from their Gumdrops and Lollipops Collection.  Now I want some Pop Rock candy! LOL Anyway, I was getting the set for a lovely young lady and couldn't resist getting one for myself :D To me it really wasn't pink, but more salmon-ish.  This is so pretty, feminine, and springy.  This isn't my usual type of color, but I really love it.  I painted my moms nails using this color and just had to use it right away.  If your nails are long like hers then you should apply at least 3-4 coats to reach opacity. Since mine are not as long I got a way with 2 and topped with SV TC. Have a great day :D

A Very Special Pink Wednesday

Hi everyone :D  FYI, this is a very wordy post.

Today I have a special post.  Last year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after I started Funky Frenchies.  After 7 months, 2 surgeries, and 4 weeks of radiation. On Monday my mom got to Ring Out (more about that in pics section.)  Thank you M D Anderson Cancer Center for your outstanding care and support.  I don't know how I managed to take pics and then get my mom home because all I wanted to do was cry tears of joy.  I did cry, but I got my mom home first and then the dam broke!  All I could do was give thanks to God for casting his gracious hand of favor on my mom.  Someone asked me if I was mat at God, because my mom had cancer.  I'm like why on earth would I be mad at God?!  No, on the contrary I need God, He's my source of strength.  It wasn't easy, I think about the 2 hours (sometimes 3 depending on where we had to go) Monday thru Friday I had to drive to get her to her appointments.  The days I'd get little or no sleep because her appointments were so early in the morning I'd have to stay at her house and she'd be nervous and didn't want to sleep so I'd stay awake with her.  I think about having to change my school schedule to attend in the evening to get her to her morning appointments, then having to change my schedule again to attend school in the morning so I could get her to her afternoon appointments.  I remember after her last surgery she was so medicated (high) LOL!  She told me, "Who'd have thunk it?" As I was fanning her body and feeding her ice chips because she was so hot .  (She said that because I was the rebellious child and then doing my own thing as an adult.)  I tell you I wanted to feed her vegetables! (She hates veggies) LOL Anyway, we still have 3 years of Dr appointments, but right now my mom is cancer free!  How could I be mad at God?  He got and is going to get me and my mom through all of it.
