Cloudy Cupcake

Hi ladies :D We finally made it back from San Antonio. It seemed the drive took forever! What should've been a 2 1/2 hour drive took 5! We had to make stops and wish our moms a Happy New Year :D

My 1st mani of the year is Revlon's Whimsical. I've read everywhere that it's a substitute for Deborah Lipmann's Glitter in the Air. I wouldn't exactly know as I don't own it. I may purchase Glitter in the Air. Idk, it's quite pricey, $18 vs $4.79. Whimsical is very sheer with small, medium and large hexagonal pink and blue glitter. Because every post I've read about Whimsical being this sheer I decided to layer it over Revlon's Powder Puff. To be honest, I didn't think I was going to like this color very much. Once on though I was quite surprised that I really like it, a lot! When I showed my honey he said it looks like a cloudy cupcake, hence the title. I was going to layer it over Revlon's Blue Lagoon. For no particular reason I chose Powder Puff. Powder Puff is white with a rose-pinkish undertone from their Matte Suede Collection. I just love their Matte Suede polishes! I used 1 coat of Powder Puff because I knew I was going to put at least 2 coats of Whimsical. You should probably put 2 coats of Powder Puff because of the bare spots. Whimsical went on a bit sparingly I had to play with it to spread on the nail. In my opinion 2 coats is all that's needed to give it that "Whimsical" look. Anything more would a bit much. All pics are in artificial light. Have a great evening :D
